MAT 2016 negative marking scheme and instructions


The Management Aptitude test is a national level exam to get admission in MBA. It is conducted by All India Management Association. The qualification to attend the MAT 2016 is they should be graduated from a university or college. The candidate should posses the minimum percentage in graduation.

MAT 2016 negative marking scheme

The MAT exam pattern is objective type questions and contains multiple choices to answer the question. It contains five sections such as Mathematical skills, Critical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and Data interpretation and Indian and Global Environment. Each section contains 40 questions.  The time for the test is 2 hours 30 minutes.

The test contains negative marking. For each right answer one mark will be provided and for each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. The student should attend the test carefully by preparation. The instructions to attend the test is given before attending.

In the computer based test a candidate should submit the answer through keyboard or mouse. The paper based test uses pen or pencils to answer the question. The students should follow the admit card instructions before attending the test. Students can refer the AIMA website to know the regular updates about MAT 2016.

  • As the marks scored for the general awareness section are not considered for calculating overall percentage, will negative scores in GK section affect the overall scores? Or is GK to be treated as a separate section without its score affecting the total?
